When you are choosing a swim vest, your child's weight matters more than their age. Age is a useful guideline, but every child grows at their own pace. The swim vest 1 year covers 11 to 15 kg, which suits most children between 1 and 2 years old. Body shape plays a role too: at the same weight, a child with a slimmer build may need a different size than a child with a broader build. Close the safety zip fully and fasten the safety strap between the legs, and check the fit before every water adventure. Do keep in mind that a swim vest gives extra support but is not a life jacket. It never replaces swimming skills or adult supervision, so always stay close and within arm's reach of your one-year-old.
